BSI Recruitment 2026 – Apply for RA-III, Junior Project Fellow & Field Assistant Posts

The Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Sikkim Himalayan Regional Centre (SHRC), Gangtok has released an official recruitment notification for Research Associate (RA-III), Junior Project Fellow (JPF), and Field Assistant posts under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) project.

This recruitment is being conducted for the research project titled “Assessment of Floristic Diversity in the Alpine High Altitude Wetland Complexes of Sikkim.” Interested and eligible Indian candidates can submit their applications before the last date of 25 March 2026.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:

Research Associate-III (RA-III)

  • Ph.D in Plant Taxonomy
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with flora in Sikkim alpine region
  • At least 3 publications in SCI journals

Junior Project Fellow (JPF)

  • M.Sc in Botany (Plant Taxonomy / Ecology)

Field Assistant

  • B.Sc in Botany or Life Sciences

Relevant field experience in plant taxonomy, ecological studies, and Himalayan biodiversity research will be considered an advantage.


Salary / Emoluments

Post Salary
Research Associate-III ₹67,000 + 10% HRA
Junior Project Fellow ₹24,000 + 10% HRA
Field Assistant ₹20,000 + 10% HRA

The salary will be provided according to the rules of the NMHS funded project.


Age Limit
